The Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly had conversations in the past about a potential trade deal for Anthony Davis, but they have not yet discussed the possibility this week.

Davis publicly announced his request for a trade earlier in the week, and that has set off an enormous amount of speculation as to where he could land.

Naturally, the destination that most believe Davis will ultimately choose is with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, but it is also clear that the Celtics have the most desirable trade assets of any team in the league.

But there have not yet been any discussions this week about a deal, according to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe:

According to a league source, the Celtics and Pelicans have not had trade discussions this week, but they have in the past, and New Orleans remains well aware of Boston’s interest in Davis as well as the treasure chest of assets it possesses.

The Pelicans are reportedly in no rush to deal Davis, as obviously the Celtics wouldn't be able to make this happen right now unless they included Kyrie Irving in the trade.

Still, it seems that the Celtics and Lakers will battle it out over Davis' services, and it should be an entertaining process along the way.
