With former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady officially making his way to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, it appears as though someone else will have to take over the city of Boston moving forward. However, that doesn't appear to be a problem, at least in the eyes of Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter, who believes that his teammate in All-Star forward Jayson Tatum is definitely the right man for the job.

With Brady now out of the picture in Boston, Kanter believes that it is time to pass the torch to Tatum, who appears primed to become one of the best Celtics players in recent memory even at this point in his relatively brief NBA career.

Granted Tatum hasn't achieved legendary status just yet as Brady did manage to capture six Super Bowl titles in nine total appearances as a member of the Patriots, the former Duke Blue Devils standouts has quickly become a staple of the Celtics franchise, which is, of course, one of the more historic organizations in sports — let alone the NBA.

Originally selected by the heralded Celtics with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Duke, the 22-year-old Tatum reached his first All-Star Game in 2019-20 and is currently averaging an impressive 23.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks across 34.6 minutes per game this season. As it stands today, Tatum has appeared in 56 regular-season games for Boston this time around while starting each and every one of those contests.

As a team, the 43-21 Celtics presently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference standings behind only the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.
