Boston Celtics legend K.C. Jones, who enjoyed a storied playing and coaching career, has died at 88-years old. The Celtics confirmed his passing on Friday.

Jones played a total of nine seasons in the NBA and won an impressive eight titles with the Celtics. The former point guard then went into a head coaching role after his playing career, winning another two championships with the C's. He made four straight appearances in the finals between 1984 and 1987. Jones also won another title as an assistant coach.

He eventually moved into a front-office role with Boston in 87′ before moving on to finish his career with stints with the Detroit Pistons and Seattle Supersonics.

Jones wasn't an electric player, averaging just 7.4 points per game. But he was a crucial part of Boston's heydays, serving as a very good playmaker. He was also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989, while the Celtics also retired his No. 25 in the rafters.

Jones also played alongside NBA legend Bill Russell at the University of San Francisco before they both took their talents to the association, winning two NCAA championships together.

Rest in peace K.C. Jones, you will be missed by many.
