For most of the second half of a blowout win against the Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics wanted one thing and one thing only: Tacko Fall. The 7-foot-7 undrafted rookie out of Central Florida is an obvious fan favorite due to his size.

After being called up last week from the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G-League, Fall finally got his shot in the Celtics 114-93 win at home.

Being showered with chants of “We want Tacko,” Celtics head coach Brad Stevens gave in and sent the 24-year-old big man in the game. Fall was called up due to Boston's long list of injuries that includes Robert Williams III, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart and Vincent Poirier.

According to Stevens, it was his 10-year-old daughter Kinsey that convinced the coach to give Fall a shot.

In five minutes of action, Fall would record five points, two rebounds, and one block. He made both of his two shots from the field and one of his two free throws.

Friday marked just the second time Fall has seen the NBA hardwood this regular season. In October, Fall played four minutes against the Knicks in Madison Square Garden recording four points and three rebounds.

In eight games with the Red Claws this season, the rookie has posted averages of 13.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in just 22.4 minutes.

With the win over Detroit, the Celtics move to 19-7 on the season and are tied for second place in the Eastern Conference
