Ahead of his upcoming bout in the Eastern Conference Finals, Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens gave the Miami Heat quite the compliment by comparing their offensive style to the Golden State Warriors.

Specifically, Stevens referenced the Heat's prolific “cutting and shooting” capabilities:

While the Heat obviously don't have the talent level of the prime Warriors, they're still an excellent offensive team in their own right. They use a lot of player movement and ball movement to create open looks, which has helped them in the playoffs.

The Heat ranked seventh in offensive rating in the regular season while shooting an impressive 37.9 percent from beyond the arc. They also ranked third in assist percentage. In the playoffs. Miami is fourth in offensive rating, second in assist percentage and third in 3-point percentage (38.0 percent).

The arrival of five-time All-Star Jimmy Butler has been huge, as he has spearheaded the Heat's new identity throughout this season. Butler was especially clutch late in games against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Then there's Bam Adebayo, a versatile big man who can defend at a high level and act as an offensive playmaker. While they have their differences, that kind of sounds a bit like Draymond Green.

The emergence of Duncan Robinson alongside rookies Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn has bolstered the Heat's depth. Stevens should also be wary of his former players in Jae Crowder and Kelly Olynyk, both of whom have been shooting well in the playoffs. Goran Dragic is another dangerous shooter and playmaker. There's also a former Warrior stud on the roster in Andre Iguodala, whose basketball IQ is extremely high.

Stevens has a talented group of his own, but he knows the Heat are going to be a handful thanks to their talent and style of play. Comparing the fourth-seeded Heat to that of the recently renowned Warriors is a huge tip of the hat to head coach Erik Spoelstra's ability to turn this team into a formidable opponent.

The Celtics and Heat will face off in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. ET.
