Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has been under fire from his critics in the 2020 playoffs, especially during the Miami Heat series in the Eastern Conference Finals.

In typical Stevens fashion, though, the Celtics' tactician said he's focusing on what he can control to get his team to the NBA Finals.

“Everyone's entitled to say whatever they want,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said, via Sean Grande.

“I'm doing my best to make sure we're in a great position. I don't get caught up in the outcome as much as how we play because there are just things you can't control. But you control mindset, prep, readiness I feel good about us.”

The Celtics aren't going to fire Stevens this offseason. He has a great relationship with his players and the front office in Boston, led by President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge.

Since signing with the Celtics in 2013 after a stellar run in college at Butler, Stevens has gone 318-246 in the regular season. He's also only missed the playoffs once. That came in his first year with the team when the franchise was still rebuilding.

Fans and pundits are always quick to blame NBA coaches if a team is struggling. However, players need to be held accountable since they are the ones who are on the court playing the game.
