When Isaiah Thomas was traded away from the Boston Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers before last season, IT had a lot of bad things to say about the team but of those comments were geared at Danny Ainge. He had injured his hip more trying to help the Celtics get farther in the playoffs and the Celtics repaid him by shipping him off and that upset Thomas.

One guy that Thomas didn't ever talk bad about was Brad Stevens and it's clear the two have a respect for each other still. Stevens joined Chris Mannix on the latest Yahoo Sports NBA Podcast and was asked about Thomas and Stevens had nothing but nice words for him and is hoping he has a big season with the Denver Nuggets.

“I love Isaiah. I knew. He’s one of the hardest workers, one of the most dedicated pros that I’ve been around. Like everyone else, I’d love to see him have an unbelievable year (in Denver). He meant a ton to Boston. He meant a ton to all of us. … I think he really had fun here. … Hopeful that he has an incredible year.”

Thomas has shown that he can be a centerpiece of a team but the last few years injuries have cost him a lot of games on the court and a lot of money in contracts. Thomas took a one-year minimum deal with the Nuggets and if he can stay healthy and perform this season the Nuggets could have gotten themselves an all-time steal for one year.
