Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens is pleased with Jayson Tatum's All-Star selection, noting that the swingman was rightfully ‘rewarded.'

The 21-year-old Tatum was selected as a reserve in the All-Star game. In his third year in the league, the Duke product is averaging 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.

Tatum has been key in the Celtics 2019-20 campaign. They currently sport a 32-15 record for third in the East. Analysts believe that the Stevens-led basketball club is a strong title contender.

Tatum's rise began way back in his rookie year in 2017. With their top players out, Tatum aided his team all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. While they were booted out by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, it nonetheless put Tatum in the radar as an up and coming stud. With his first All-Star selection now in the books, this may be the start of Tatum's rise.
