Boston Celtics star Gordon Hayward continues to be on the mend, which is good news for the team and for Celtics fans everywhere.

And while there have been many exciting developments in his rehab — the most recent being a video that surfaced of Hayward shooting while standing up — the team has been staunchly denying that the former Utah Jazz player will make a return the basketball court this season.

But there may be a reason or even more speculation. The Celtics visited the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, and Gordon was with the team that night. However, it was not because Hayward all of a sudden would start traveling with the team, Celtics coach Brad Stevens said.

Stevens did elaborate on Hayward's travel though, when asked by a reporter. Stevens said Hayward could start traveling with the team as early as March, per Brian Robb of Boston Sports Journal.

Who knows what to think about this whole Hayward situation anymore? Will he be back, will he not be back, when? It's all very confusing as the situation meanders throughout the season.

Hayward's injury was horrifying, and under normal circumstances would keep someone out for the entire season. But so far, his rehab has seemingly gone ahead of schedule. There's no telling if that's true, though.

In terms of being in Los Angeles, Stevens said he wanted to change Hayward's environment because he's been stuck in the same kind of routine for months. Stevens did not give any indication that Hayward would be back soon, and also made a slight reference to the video Hayward's wife posted of him shooting standing up.

“He's still got a long way to go,” Stevens said before Tuesday's game. “But he's a really good spot shooter.”

March is not that far away, so fans will know soon how Hayward feels if he starts traveling with the team.
