Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving is one of the NBA, but one Cavs source says he's limiting himself. Irving has received criticism because of his assist numbers in the past. Irving's career high of 5.9 assists per game came during his second season with the Cavs. That's not astonishing for an All-Star point guard, but he's obviously an elite talent. The Cavs source says Irving could easily be a dominant passer, but he chooses to put himself first. The source considers himself a friend of Irving, but was harsh in his assessment of the star's reasoning.

“Just to stick it up everyone's ass,” said the source. “He can do it any time he wants to.”

During the time when LeBron James first returned to the Cavs, the personnel pleaded with Irving to change his game. They wanted him to be more of a playmaker, which would benefit the team as a whole. However, Irving refused to change his style.

“He can be as big an asshole as you deal with,” the source continued, “and then he can be as genuine and real and engaging. And you'll walk away going, ‘Man, I love that M-Fer.'”

Last season, Irving averaged 24.4 points and averaged 5.1 assists for the Celtics. They had no complaints about his play, as they were among the top teams in the Eastern Conference. His late-season knee surgery was successful, so he's attacking the basket with reckless abandon once again. When you have a talent like Kyrie Irving, you have to let him play to his strengths.
