Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum showed once again why he’s one of the best scorers in the NBA. Tatum danced with Orlando Magic center Mo Wagner, hit him with the stepback, and made the filthy shot right on his face. Of course, it was all cash for Tatum—who has been impressive this season.

Tatum has been playing the best basketball of his career, averaging 26.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Despite the Celtics’ struggles, Tatum has always been their go-to and is the reason why they’re surviving in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics are currently in seventh place in the standings and in a position to compete in the play-in tournament.

However, Tatum and company have two important games versus the Miami Heat coming up. If they at least win one of those, the Celtics will have the tie-breaker. The next two games versus the Heat can determine who stays outside of the play-in tournament. Tatum has come up big for his team during important games so that’s always a big confidence booster for Celtics fans.

What the Celtics need in order to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference standings is help for Tatum. Tatum’s co All-Star Jaylen Brown has become a reliable scorer but sometimes both can’t do the work alone. For them to succeed, they need contributions from Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker, and Tristan Thompson in the frontcourt.

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens to the Celtics moving forward. They need to just win at least even one game versus the Heat and end their regular season strong.
