What a roller coaster ride this continues to be. Once Archie Miller's departure and buyout was done with, the gears started turning on social media as to who the Indiana Hoosiers could bring in as their next head coach. Once considered a top-tier program in college basketball, Indiana has been in a lull for a while now. Who could help flip the script and bring Indiana back to prominence? Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens is one answer. While it's mostly been speculation so far two conflicting reports emerged today.

Let's start with the one that will have Indiana fans foaming at the mouth with excitement.

Well that's quite the tweet drop coming from Dave Dameshek. Who knows what he really knows, but for some reason when we see the blue checkmark next to the name, we're opt to buy stock into what is being said just a little bit more when it comes to head coaching rumors.

Stadium's own Jeff Goodman had this to say as a rebuttal:

On one side, Dameshek is convinced and said he's heard Brad Stevens will be taking the Indiana job TODAY.

And in the other corner, the challenger, Jeff Goodman says Celtics sources will be “beyond shocked” if Stevens leaves for Indiana.

The part about one source saying, “It was just a normal day. He didn't seem any different.” Yea, Stevens isn't going to be acting like a lunatic or tip his hand if he were to be leaving for Indiana today.

Regardless of if it's Stevens or not, Indiana needs the home run hire to inject life and hope back into their program.

In his 8th season with the Celtics, Stevens has amassed a record of 338-266, coaching Boston to multiple playoff appearances.
