Danny Ainge, General Manager and President of Basketball Operations of the Boston Celtics, heaped tons of praise on Jaylen Brown for how he handled the team's situation last season.

The Celtics were hounded with chemistry issues in the 2018-19 season, with players calling out each other through the media. The players couldn't hide their frustration, and it ended up affecting their on-court performance. Despite being one of the most promising teams in the Eastern Conference, the Beantown squad finished fourth in the standings (49-33) and eventually lost in the second round of the playoffs.

Ainge, however, said that Brown showed maturity amid all the drama and handled the whole situation really well compared to his veteran teammates.

“He might have handled a difficult situation better than anybody on our team last year,” Ainge said on The Michael Holley Podcast (h/t Dave Green of Yahoo Sports). “Very mature kid, wants to be great, knows that his time is coming.”

The 60-year-old NBA executive furthered that Brown has been focused on improving himself instead of being involved in the team's problems. Ainge emphasized his work ethic, which he thinks will pave the way for Brown towards a great future.

“It's hard for him to be patient, but he has been patient. And he continues to work,” Ainge continued. “He's trying to find ways to get better, and I think Jaylen's going to be a very good player and has a very bright future.”

If Ainge's reading of Brown is true, then it might not be long for the Celtics to have another superstar on their roster.
