Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter has been one of the biggest supporters of Jayson Tatum this season.

That trend continued on Monday, as Kanter took to Twitter to announce he's waiting for the NBA to name Tatum as the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for February.

Tatum has appeared in 55 games for the Celtics this season. The youngster has taken his game to another level, as he’s averaging 23.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting an efficient 45.0 percent from the floor, 39.6 percent from the 3-point line and 81.6 percent from the charity stripe.

In the month of February, the Boston swingman put up a stellar stat line of 30.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 12 games.

The game has slowed down for Tatum, who is scoring very effortlessly this season. The Celtics are also pleased to see him mesh easily with star point guard Kemba Walker, who said previously that one of the reasons he signed with Boston was because he wanted to play with Tatum.

Certainly, Celtics president of basketball operations and general manager Danny Ainge is starting to look really smart for not trading Tatum. After all, he looks like he's going to turn into a superstar very soon.

Boston has a good shot at winning the Eastern Conference this season. For that to happen, Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward all have to play at a high level once the playoffs start. Enes Kanter also has to contribute off the bench on a consistent basis.

The Celtics lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2019 playoffs. However, they will likely have to get through Milwaukee to win the East this time around.
