Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter Freedom has never been afraid to make his opinion heard. After all, he legally changed his last name to “Freedom,” and is frequently calling out inequalities across the globe via Twitter. Freedom hasn't backed away from much in terms of who he is willing to call out, and he's just gone and made a statement to his employers; the NBA.

Freedom took to Twitter to call out the NBA and urged the organization to postpone the season amid the massive rise in positive COVID-19 tests that have plagued the league over the past few weeks.

With more players being placed in the league's COVID-19 protocols daily, Freedom has seen enough. The Celtics' big-man is attempting to use his platform to gain support for his stance and has begun to question whether the NBA truly has its players' best interests in mind.

The Brooklyn Nets were decimated by COVID-19 this past week, with as many as 10 players being placed in the league's protocols following positive tests. The league postponed three games on Sunday and preemptively postponed the Washington Wizards-Brooklyn Nets game that was scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 21.

As more and more positive tests continue to impact players' availability, Freedom is urging the NBA to postpone the season and allow players a chance to properly fight off the virus before continuing to travel across the country and play in basketball games.

It's unlikely the NBA will issue a direct response to Freedom, though we're sure this isn't the last we'll hear from him regarding this topic. Surely, the league is considering all its options as the amount of positive tests continues to surge, resulting in postponements across the league.
