The Boston Celtics have been one of several NBA teams to deal with the recent COVID-19 outbreak. Well, center Enes Kanter Freedom is the latest Celtics player to enter the health and safety protocols, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

As Charania reported, Enes Kanter Freedom is the eighth Celtics player to enter the COVID protocols. Boston has particularly been hit hard in the frontcourt, as Freedom becomes the seventh forward/center to be sidelined due to the virus.

With Freedom down, the Celtics are now limited to just two centers on the roster: Robert Williams III and Bruno Fernando. Freedom has only played 13 minutes per game for Boston but has been a decent contributor, with averages of 4.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Celtics, who already made use of the hardship exception three times with the signings of Joe Johnson, Justin Jackson and C.J. Miles, may need to make a move to solidify their frontcourt after this latest news on Freedom.

Freedom, who was previously known as Enes Kanter, has been vocal about his opinions and beliefs when it comes to those around the world who he feels are having their freedoms compromised, specifically in China.

While Enes Kanter Freedom hasn't been the most pivotal player on the court for the Celtics, his absence is still a big blow to the Boston rotation.
