Enes Kanter says Kemba Walker is the biggest reason he signed with the Boston Celtics this summer, but his fandom for actor Mark Wahlberg played a role as well.

Walker called Kanter from Celtics president Danny Ainge's phone telling him to come to the Celtics. Once Kanter heard Walker's pitch, he was set on signing with Boston.

It just so happens Mark Wahlberg is a huge Celtics and New England Patriots fan and spends a lot of his time in Boston. So, Kanter saw this as a great opportunity to meet and hang out with Wahlberg:

Wahlberg is really good friends with Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. It looks like Enes Kanter is also going to try to cultivate a friendship with the superstar actor.

Kanter signed a two-year, $9.7 million deal with the Celtics this summer after playing for the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers last season. The big man averaged 13.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 67 games with New York and Portland while shooting 54.9 percent from the floor and 78.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Kanter will likely replace All-Star center Al Horford in Boston’s starting lineup next season. Nothing is set in stone, but Boston's projected starting lineup for next season is Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Enes Kanter.
