Professional basketball players have little to do these days in light of the recent work stoppage.

The coronavirus pandemic forced the NBA to put the 2019-20 regular season on hold. With players and coaches being told to isolate as often as possible in order to help stop the spread.

Naturally, the players are still trying to communicate with teammates and fans via social media. Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant and Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young have embraced their inner gamer, while Damian Lillard posted a video with his young son.

On Saturday night, Boston Celtics center Vincent Poirier felt like ribbing his frontcourt mate, Enes Kanter. Poirier tweeted how it has been two days since he has seen Kanter. Yet he joked,”I don't even miss him.”

Kanter responded in French with the word “menteuse,” which translates to “liar.”

Just some good old-fashioned Twitter fun between the two bigs.

Kanter–ever the outspoken man on social media–has been extremely vocal about the suspension of play and the pandemic at large. He changed his Twitter avatar to a picture of himself wearing a mask, in addition to a video of himself playing basketball in a full bodysuit:

Kanter has also been adamant about washing hands and remaining sanitized.

This is an unprecedented situation for the NBA and the sports world at large, but it must feel especially strange for the players. After all, they are normally surrounded by teammates, coaches or trainers at nearly every hour of every day.

In any case, the self-quarantines still leave plenty of room for jokes, at least in the case of the Celtics.
