The NBA trade deadline has come and gone. Some teams make drastic improvements, the Boston Celtics being one of them. After acquiring Evan Fournier from the Orlando Magic via trade, the Celtics aim to vastly improve their shooting and hope to make a playoff push this year.

However, it seems they'll have to wait for Fournier to become eligible just a bit longer, as their new shooting guard found himself out of the lineup of Saturday night's game due to the NBA's Health and Safety Protocols, per Tim Bontemps.

Another frustrating event for Celtics fans. First, the team struggles as they currently sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, then the Brad Stevens rumors surfaced in the rumor mill, and now their newly acquired shooting guard is set to miss his first scheduled game. It seems Boston can't catch a break at the moment, as the woes continue within the organization.

Hopefully, Fournier can get back on track soon, as his 19.7 points per game average will give them a lift for the remainder of the regular season. For now, the Celtics will have to continue to rely on Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kemba Walker to do the bulk of the scoring until Fournier is cleared to play again.

Fournier will be missing the matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night, but the organization is hoping he can be cleared before their game after that against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. The Celtics are in a crucial part of the season, as they're fighting for their postseason hopes as they head into crunch time.
