Duke University has produced more than its fair share of elite NBA talents over the past few years, with Boston Celtics teammates Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum two of its more high-profile products. This year, Marvin Bagley III is quickly shaping up to follow in their footsteps as the next Blue Devil to make it big in the NBA after some impressive performances.

It’s still very early in the season, but the young freshman has already gotten the seal of approval from illustrious Blue Devils alumni in Irving and Tatum. The Celtics star believes Bagley is already a dominant force and is a superstar-caliber talent at the next level.

“He’s an incredible talent,” Irving told ESPN's Jeff Goodman. “He’s dominating college basketball right now. I want him to continue to do that, but, what makes it incredible is how he functions with that Duke system. They do it with playing unselfish basketball, and collectively they are just resilient.”

“He looks like a superstar,” Irving added, “Which he ultimately is in college basketball, and I can’t wait to see him in the league.”

Tatum agrees with Irving’s general sentiments and is in awe of how Marvin Bagley III has been so good so quickly.

If Bagley keeps up his current rate of production, his case for being the top overall pick in the upcoming draft will be hard to ignore. But if he does go No. 1, he'll miss out on being teammates with his fellow Duke alums on the Celtics, who get the Lakers’ first-round pick if it lands between picks two and five.

Nevertheless, Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum do seem legitimately excited for their immensely talented Dukie brethren wherever he lands in the NBA.
