Boston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward would probably be the MVP of the league if he played against the Minnesota Timberwolves every night.

Gordon Hayward entered Wednesday averaging just 10.3 points per game, but he's had two of his best games of the year versus the Timberwolves.

On Dec. 1, Hayward scored 30 points in Minnesota, and Wednesday night at home, the swingman put up 35 points against the Timberwolves. Both of these performances were off the bench as well.

By scoring 35 points Wednesday as a reserve, Gordon Hayward became the first Celtic since Ricky Davis to score 35 points coming off the bench:

The Celtics defeated the Timberwolves by a final score of 115-102. Boston was playing without star point guard Kyrie Irving, who is dealing with an eye injury. The Celtics are now 22-15 on the season with the win.

Gordon Hayward's 35 points were a game-high on Wednesday. The All-Star recently said he's still trying to find his rhythm on the basketball court after suffering that gruesome left ankle fracture last season on opening night in Cleveland.

This performance shows that the talent is still in there for Gordon Hayward, it's just that when you miss a whole year of basketball, rust is going to be apparent. For one night, though, Hayward was the best player on the court and it's a great sight to see.
