It has become well known that Boston Celtics All-Star forward Gordon Hayward is a huge video game aficionado.

These roots stem back to his collegiate days at Butler to the point where he often entered tournaments for gaming that got to the point where he was competing for money prizes. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Hayward revealed the awkward conversation that he had with then-Butler head coach Brad Stevens about being able to play in an online video game tournament.

This wasn't the type of conversation that Brad Stevens likely would have expected coming from his star forward during the collegiate season where the focus is on the court. That said, it has been one of the huge passions for Gordon Hayward away from the game of basketball.

The hobby of playing video games hasn't sidetracked the Celtics star from his commitment on the court as he has developed into one of the top forwards in the league. Although he's currently recovering from a broken leg that will force him to miss the entire 2017-18 season, he has continued to train in the gym while taking shots from a chair.

It could also provide Gordon Hayward more time to play video games and continue to play in more gaming tournaments in the next few months during his recovery.
