Despite being sidelined indefinitely following the gruesome injury he suffered on opening night, Gordon Hayward will still be able to contribute to his team this season. He won't be playing with his teammates on the court, but he now has a new task for them, which could also be equally as important.

As watching videos continues to be a big part of preparing teams for their upcoming opponents, head coach Brad Stevens has reportedly assigned the All-Star forward to be the lead on video projects while he's continuing to recover, according to Kristen Ledlow of TNT. Hayward is now expected to help them scout opponents to give them a solid gameplan heading into games.

The move could have been done by the Boston Celtics to still make him feel welcome with the team. It will probably take him the entire season before he can return to action, but if he does well with his new task, he may boost his morale, and feel that he is still a key part of the team.

What the C's did is a classy gesture, which shows how much they value Hayward's knowledge of the game. He may not be with his teammates and coaches on the floor, but he could still do wonders for them behind the scenes, by leading the video projects.
