Boston Celtis star Gordon Hayward will play Saturday against the Chicago Bulls, per a team report.

The 28-year-old Hayward was sidelined with a right ankle injury in Thursday’s 98-97 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He likely could've been the difference-maker in what was a dramatic conclusion to a tightly fought ballgame, but he will look to aid in the Celtics' matchup with the young Chicago Bulls.

Brad Stevens hinted at the return, saying Gordon Hayward looked good after Friday's practice.

Hayward injured his ankle while working out over the All-Star break last week.

The Celtics got into a major groove heading into the break, winning seven of the last nine games in that juncture. They've also been intermittently faced with injuries over the season, which has been the primary reason for their No. 5 ranking in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls edged the Orlando Magic 110-109 in Orlando on Friday night, giving them two-straight victories heading into their matchup against Boston. Otto Porter Jr. has fit in almost effortlessly since being acquired from the Washington Wizards at the trade deadline, posting double figures in every game played for Chicago.

Despite it being just win No. 15 for the Bulls this season, they've seemed to have surged as a threat to any team competing for postseason birth next month. They will embark on that energy as they host the Celtics tonight.

Hayward has averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 53 games played this season.
