The Boston Celtics are in for an interesting offseason.

After years of planning by Celtics executive Danny Ainge, the C’s will likely lose Kyrie Irving this offseason as well as the chance to sign Anthony Davis, after the Pels shook up the NBA by trading the big man to the Lakers – spurning Boston, who had been his most apparent suitor for years.

However, in the 2019 NBA Draft, the C’s were on the top of their game in terms of nabbing players who fell down draft boards for whatever reason, including selecting Romeo Langford with the final pick in the lottery (#14 overall) and two-time SEC Player of the Year Grant Williams at #22 overall.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium wasted no time in posting an extremely interesting interview with the C’s lottery pick in which Williams flatly states that Irving’s well-known opinions on the shape of the Earth are straight-up incorrect:

If Celtics fans still though there was hope Kyrie would return, this ethering by his future teammate might quash any chance of that now.

Of course, Williams is absolutely correct on this one, as anyone who believes that the Earth is still flat is literally living out a belief that was first debunked by, ahem, Greek philosopher Aristotle in 330 BC. Sorry, Kyrie.

Now that the Celtics have a player who knows the shape of the Earth, their future can go in something resembling more of a logical direction with good young players and a coach who knows how to maximize them.
