Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is feeling “very confident” about their chances against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Well, why wouldn't they be? The Celtics blew out the Warriors during their last regular season meeting in 2021-22, and Udoka made sure to remind everyone of that after they took down the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

“We played Golden State pretty well this year, obviously beat them pretty bad late in the season,” Udoka said, per NBC Sports. “So the story this season, we’ve competed well against the best teams, and obviously you have to do that to make it to this point now.”

Ime Udoka also highlighted how they fought back against the Warriors in their first game of the campaign. The Celtics lost that showdown 111-107, but they erased a 14-point Golden State lead at halftime to make it close.

Sure enough, the Celtics have proven that they can go toe-to-toe with the Warriors. However, Udoka did emphasize that they are not underestimating Golden State. After all, they know very well what Steve Kerr's men can do.

The Celtics coach, though, highlighted that they “will be ready for the challenge.”

“I know it’s another tough challenge. I think Miami will help prep us for some of the off-ball actions in the shooters that they had. But we know [the Warriors are] a high-level team, executing team that has a ton of great shooters, great players overall, guys I know well,” Udoka added.

The Warriors certainly remain a huge threat to the Celtics, especially now that they are fully healthy. Nonetheless, it is definitely wrong to rule out Boston after what they've shown throughout the 2022 playoffs.
