Longtime Boston Celtics beat writer A. Sherrod Blakely ran into Isaiah Thomas at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, snapping a selfie with the 5-foot-9 dynamo after crossing paths.

The two exchanged pleasantries, as Thomas said he was back to full health after undergoing his second hip surgery in last year's span.

Thomas, an unrestricted free agent looking for his next deal, joked with the beat-man that he could envision a potential return to Bean Town.

“Tell Boston I'll come back for a year LOL … Good to see you. Miss my Boston fam!” he wrote.

While Thomas could still have some animosity toward Danny Ainge for trading him after the best season of his NBA career (third in scoring with 28.9 points per game), but the Washington native welcomed Boston as much as Boston welcomed him over the course of his two-plus year stint with the team.

Unfortunately, his value to the Boston faithful wasn't seen in the same light by the front office, leading to his exit.

The Celtics still have Kyrie Irving as their starting point guard as well as other able guards like Terry Rozier, making the reunion rather unlikely at this point, but never rule out a potential return if things change in the near future.
