Former Boston Celtics star point guard Isaiah Thomas took to social media to react to Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart getting into a heated confrontation after the Celtics lost Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Miami Heat.

Thomas, who played with both Brown and Smart in Boston, says he was part of many postgame sessions when things got heated.

However, the two-time All-Star also stated that the respect factor was always there.

The Celtics look like they are in trouble against the Heat. Boston has to win Game 3 on Saturday, otherwise, this series is likely over.

When Jaylen Brown first got to the Celtics, he admitted he and Marcus Smart didn't like each other. Obviously, that relationship has grown over time, but it appears there is something still there that needs to be addressed.

The Celtics traded Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017 in the blockbuster Kyrie Irving trade. Unfortunately for IT, he hasn't been the same player since suffering that serious hip injury in 2016-17. The former Boston fan favorite has played for the Cavs, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Washington Wizards since his Celtics days ended.

Many Boston fans have been clamoring for Danny Ainge to bring Thomas back. The lefty is an unrestricted free agent this offseason after getting waived by the Los Angeles Clippers, who acquired Thomas from the Wizards at the 2020 trade deadline.

Let's see if Ainge and Co. bring Thomas on as a back up to Kemba Walker.
