Former NBA player and current ESPN basketball analyst Jalen Rose says the players on the Boston Celtics are looking for star point guard Kyrie Irving to make them better on the basketball floor.

Kyrie Irving recently said the young players on Boston don't know what it takes to win a championship. The five-time All-Star then said he shouldn't have said those comments to the media, and that it would have been better if he kept it in house.

Irving is learning what it takes to be a leader of a team this season. Jalen Rose says the players in Boston are looking for Irving to teach them the ropes and ultimately make them better basketball players, something Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is known to do.

Kyrie Irving had one of his best games of the season on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. Uncle Drew finished with 27 points and a career-high 18 assists to lead Boston to a 117-108 victory over Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors.

That's the type of game the Celtics need from Kyrie Irving moving forward. Kyrie can score the basketball with the best of them and every possession if he wants to, but that's not going to help Boston win the NBA championship.

If Kyrie Irving is steadily racking up double-digit assists and putting his teammates in positions to succeed, Boston will be a tough out once the postseason starts.
