Jaylen Brown and Luka Doncic are already acquainted with one another after the Boston Celtics took on the Dallas Mavericks Saturday. The two young studs collided during the game, and afterward Brown accused Doncic of flopping. Brown was called for a technical foul and tensions rose before the refs got things under control. Brown told Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe:

“I wasn't even looking at him. He was running up the court and he wasn't looking at where he was going. When he ran into me, I wasn't going to fall, so I was just like ‘man get out my way.' It wasn't intentional.”

Brown didn't stop there. He directly accused Doncic of flopping and believes that the foul was called due to Doncic's home-court advantage. Brown told Washburn:

“He definitely flopped. Absolutely. But we're in his arena so he got that call.”

Whether or not Doncic flopped is up for debate, but there's no doubt that Brown lowered his shoulder and was looking to create contact with the rookie and send a message.

But Doncic and the Mavs got the last laugh. Doncic scored 15 points and dished out eight assists in a nine-point victory. Both teams now sit at .500 on the season.

Jaylen Brown and the Celtics are still an enigma at this point. They are having trouble gaining any kind of momentum and continue to look out of sync.

For the Mavs, they may not love their chances at securing a playoff spot this season, but they have to love what they're seeing from Luka Doncic early in his career. He looks like he can become the franchise cornerstone in Dallas.
