Jaylen Brown has had a bounce-back season after a rollercoaster 2018-19, now putting up the best numbers of his career as a bonafide starter for the Boston Celtics. Averaging a whisker under 20 points per game, the fourth-year guard has been shooting better and more confidently, recently dedicating his five 3-pointers against the Miami Heat with blow kisses to the crowd.

“People like to say I'm a non-shooter,” said Brown after putting up a team-high 31 points on 5-of-9 from deep, according to Chris Grenham of NESN. “So when I make it, that's my gift to them.”

Brown is cashing in on 38.2% of his 3-pointers, the highest mark since his second season in the league. Yet he's also vastly improved his free-throw shooting (plus-6%), as well as his rebounding, playmaking, and defense.

Many point to his stint with Team USA as the unlocking of all these skills, along with the opportunity to show it in training camp, which has been a boon for the Celtics.

Boston already has two 20-plus-point scorers in Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum, and they could easily have another in Brown, who is hitting at nearly 50% efficiency from the floor. The trio is a huge reason why the Celtics have gotten off to a 15-5 start to the season and improved from their standing in 2018-19 under Kyrie Irving.

Brown shooting more confidently has added another layer of depth to this team and given the 23-year-old the right confidence to keep taking those shots when they become available, proving his doubters wrong after every bucket.
