There’s something about Boston Celtics guards and facial accessories. After Kyrie Irving recently ditched his mask which caused him some discomfort, it’s now backcourt mate Jaylen Brown’s turn to have problems with his protective glasses, causing him to lose them altogether against the Chicago Bulls.

However, the glasses apparently aren't Brown's only problem, per Jared Weiss of The Celtics Wire:

Jaylen on ditching the glasses: “I haven’t been able to find any comfort really with the glasses, so I was just like, ‘F it,’ and took them off. My eye’s still blurry. Everything’s still blurry. I don’t have very good vision, but at least it’s like, more consistent.”

Brown has been wearing the protective glasses ever since returning from a one-game absence due to a non-basketball-related right eye inflammation. He's looked fine through three games, averaging 13.3 points on 51 percent shooting.

However, it's somewhat disconcerting that Jaylen Brown’s vision remains blurry from the inflammation. Given his emergence as a key part of the Celtics this season, his situation is something to keep an eye on (no pun intended).

But the fact that Brown was allowed by the medical staff to play on without the glasses reveals that they're not such a big deal. If he’s going to have blurry vision either way, he might as well go without the glasses and be a little bit more comfortable on the court.
