Most people know Jaylen Brown as one of Boston Celtics' rising stars. A key member of the team's young core, he's currently in negotiations on a possible long-term contract extension.

But just like every player in the NBA, he also wants to make a name for himself outside of the league. Brown wants to create his own brand as he starts to venture into the fashion industry. He recently made an appearance in the 7uice Foundation gala wearing a suit that he designed.

Brown, 22, emphasized he's focused on his basketball career, but he also has interests outside of the sport that he wants to give attention to, per John Karalis of MassLive.com.

“I am focused on basketball. But at the same time, like I'm the CEO, so I gotta run my business and make sure some stuff I handle correctly.”

“I want to be hands on. It's my baby. Everything that y'all see today, I build my brand with my own two hands. Like everything that you guys know about, whether it's fashion, whether it's education or anything, technology, anything, I've done off the merit of me.”

At a very young age, Brown is starting to see and learn the business side of the NBA. Teams will always look after themselves, and they will always do what's best for the franchise. As a player, Brown wants to make sure that he does the same for his career on and off the court.

He's using a famous line from one of Jay-Z's songs to tell people who he wants to become.

“I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man.”
