Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown has been dealing with a tailbone injury, but the former No. 3 overall pick says he's expecting to play in Thursday night's game against the Knicks.

“I'm good,” Brown told reporters after Tuesday's practice. “I'm ready to go. I'm feeling better every day. I'm just looking forward to being there on Thursday. Let's keep this win streak going.”

Brown hadn't missed a start prior to this setback. In his 19 appearances with the Celtics this season, the Georgia native has racked up averages of 11.1 points on 39.8 percent shooting from the field (25.3 percent from beyond the arc), 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 28.1 minutes per outing.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens noted that Brown was able to get through a vigorous practice on Monday and felt fine during Tuesday morning's session.

After a bit of a shaky stretch, the Celtics have won three straight games, including 118-109 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. Gordon Hayward, who has fully recovered from the gruesome ankle injury he suffered last season, posted a season-high 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

“It's slowly coming along. I think my confidence is slowly coming back, too,” Hayward told ESPN. “I'm still not where I want to be, but for sure, me attacking is better for our team and not being hesitant or passive.”

Thursday night's Celtics-Knicks matchup is scheduled to tip inside TD Garden at 8:00 p.m. EST with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
