The Boston Celtics are banged up right now, with both Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward sidelined with injuries. But there seems to be good notes on that front.

Hayward, who has been dealing with a knee bruised and has missed the last couple of games as a result, could return as soon as Sunday when the Celtics battle the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Meanwhile, Brown has been out for the last two contests due to a hamstring injury and thinks he could make his back on Sunday, as well.

“It could be worse, that’s how I see it,” Brown said on Friday, according to John Karalis of MassLive.com. “Just trying to get better every single day and get back out there.”

The original plan for Boston was to re-evaluate Brown in a week (he suffered the injury against the Brooklyn Nets this past Tuesday), which would have put him on track to play against the Milwaukee Bucks next Friday.

But Brown feels that he may be back on the court before then, so he could possibly retake the floor when the Celtics take on the Indiana Pacers next Tuesday:

“I feel good about the last 48 hours so I guess Wednesday might be the mark,” he said. “We’ll see about Monday or Tuesday. We will play it by ear.”

Depth has been an issue for the C's this season, which is why getting Hayward and Brown back is paramount for their success moving forward.

The Celtics have lost three of their last four games and have had difficulty staying healthy all year, as Hayward, Brown and Kemba Walker have all missed their fair share of time due to injuries.
