It seems safe to say that Jaylen Brown is not a fan of Kyrie Irving.

The Boston Celtics guard was asked at shootaround on Friday if he feels he can play his game more freely this season with Irving no longer on the roster, to which Brown said, “No comment, next question,” per Tom Westerholm of MassLive.com.

The Celtics understandably do not enjoy talking about last season, where the team drastically underperformed and won just 49 games before being eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.

Irving then bolted Boston in free agency over the summer, electing to sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

Brown certainly has looked better without Irving this year, as he is averaging 18.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals over 32.9 minutes per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the floor, 34.7 percent from three-point range and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The C's have also looked better as a whole, as they are 11-3 and already have a 10-game winning streak under their belt.

Brown, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of California, was originally selected by the Celtics with the third overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft.

He was largely impressive over much of his first three seasons, particularly during Boston's 2018 playoff run when Brown was one of the club's top options with both Irving and Gordon Hayward sidelined with injuries.

Brown's play throughout his first three years in the league earned him a four-year, $115 million contract extension from the C's just before the season started last month.

The Celtics will face the Denver Nuggets to conclude their five-game road trip on Friday night.
