Boston Celtics small forward Jaylen Brown will miss at least one week of action due to a hamstring injury.

The Celtics, who are taking on the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, will be without Brown, Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward.

Brown has appeared in 50 games this season for the Celtics. He’s averaging 20.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Many believe one of the reasons Brown is flourishing this season is because he got his contract taken care of. Brown signed a rookie-scale extension with the Celtics before the 2019-20 season started, so he’s now playing free and without any worries — turning into an elite two-way player right before everyone’s eyes.

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge certainly made the right decision not to trade Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown for some of the superstars who have requested trades over the past few seasons. It is worth noting that there were rumors about the team potentially swooping in last summer to acquire Anthony Davis, but nothing materialized and AD was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Celtics are 41-19 on the season and in third place in the Eastern Conference standings.
