After their heartbreaking loss to the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown shared his thoughts on the grand jury decision on the Breonna Taylor case. According to him, he wasn't surprised that the decision didn't go in their favor.

Earlier, the grand jury decided not to indict the two police officers — both of which fired shots during the botched raid at Taylor's house in March. Meanwhile, the other police officer was only indicted on first-degree wanton endangerment charges. As such, not a single person was charged for the killing of Taylor.

According to the district general, the firing of the guns of the two police officers was justified because it was Taylor's boyfriend who fired first. But ballistics analysis reveals that one police officer fired the shot that killed Taylor.

Like Brown, NBA players have singled out the Breonna Taylor case to propel their message against police brutality and racial injustice. Along with George Floyd, NBA players have acted in unison against the systematic racial injustices that have been hounding the country.

Last month, the Milwaukee Bucks led a league-wide boycott after the shooting of African-American Jacob Blake in Wisconsin. Though the season eventually continued, the NBA players sent a strong and firm message: they're not just going to shut up and dribble. You can rest assured that Brown would be at the forefront of such movement again.
