Boston Celtics small forward Jaylen Brown says his and Jayson Tatum's “best days are yet to come.”

Brown says he and Tatum are lucky. They were both high draft picks and came into a winning situation with the Celtics. So even though Boston underwhelmed this season, Brown knows the future is bright.

“(Tatum’s) 21, I’m 22 and we’ve been blessed, to be honest,” Brown said, via Jared Weiss of The Athletic. “We came into situations that were winning situations, and we had great roles and handled it well. So this is just a part of it. This is a part of our careers. Our basketball, our best days are yet to come.”

Brown averaged 13.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists during the regular season, while Tatum put up 15.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists. The Celtics are widely expected to try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis this summer, which means Brown and Tatum could be on the move.

Before the 2018-19 season started, pretty much every expert picked the Celtics to win the Eastern Conference. For whatever reason, though, Boston was never able to get on track. They lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs in five games.

The future of Kyrie Irving is uncertain. One thing is clear, though: Brown and Tatum are going to be really good players in the NBA for a long time. Now, we just have to see if that will continue with the Celtics.
