Things didn't go well late in the game for the Boston Celtics. Not only did they fail to capitalize after cutting the Houston Rockets lead down to two in the fourth quarter (ultimately succumbing to a 116-105 defeat), but they also now need to worry about the health of star shooting guard Jaylen Brown. If not already.

Late in the fourth quarter, Brown suffered a leg injury and had to take himself out of the play. The injury was later confirmed to be a calf contusion per Yahoo Sports' Keith Smith. The fourth-year Celtics pro had been grimacing throughout the game, especially when landing on layups and dunks.

Brown finished the game with 19 points on 7-12 shooting in 33 minutes of play in the crushing loss.

For the season, the former No. 3 overall pick is averaging a career-high 20.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 49.4 percent from the floor and 37.7 percent from deep. The 23-year-old took a considerable leap from his averages of the past seasons and was in the running for a possible All-Star roster spot.

Recent ankle injuries have hindered Brown in recent games and throughout the season. Brown has missed nine of the Celtics 53 games this season and maybe out until after the All-Star break with the recent calf contusion.

The Celtics as a whole have had to deal with injuries all season. Along with Brown, Jayson Tatum, Daniel Theis, Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, Enes Kanter and Gordon Hayward have all missed multiple games in the season's first half.

With the loss to Houston, the Celtics move to 37-15 on the season and their seven-game winning streak comes to an end.
