The Boston Celtics' backs are against the wall in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Down 3-2, the Celtics need a victory on Thursday night to stay alive. They'll need their two best players, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, to be on top of their games.

Brown, who endured a rough shooting night in Game 5, will need to bounce back for Boston to have a chance. Fortunately, for the Celtics, Brown seems to be in the right state of mind. He made a bold declaration about his abilities ahead of Game 6, per Michael Pina of Sports Illustrated:

“I think I’m one of the best players in the world. For whatever reason, I mean, people may not think so but that’s just my mindset,” Brown says.

“They said I shouldn’t deserve to be paid. They said I should be traded. It’s nothing new to me because it’s like, from the first day it’s been that type of energy. … I don’t really get sensitive about it. I don’t really think too much about it. I just come out and try to be the best version of me.”

Brown said that he thinks he's “one of the best players in the world.” The Celtics star then went on to recall all of the negative “energy” he has faced since entering the league.

Brown, who took a few years to develop into the two-way, All-Star-caliber wing that he is today, certainly has a case for being one of the better players in the league. Few can affect the game on both ends the way he can.

Boston will certainly need every bit of Brown's efforts on both ends against the Warriors in Game 6. Fortunately, the Celtics star sounds like he's ready for his big NBA Finals moment.
