After making his best run with the Boston Celtics last season, Jayson Tatum is now focused on becoming a complete basketball player.

Having recorded a career-high of 26.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 4.3 apg last season, it appears as if Celtics talisman Jayson Tatum has no holes in his game at the moment. However, he recently admitted that he is still working on improving his game.

According to Tatum, in lieu of aiming to become “the best player” there is, he is dedicated in turning himself to a unanimously dominant player who can thump his opponents on “both ends” of the floor.

“The next step is being more efficient and just dominating,” Tatum revealed via NBC Sports. “Not going out there and being just the best player — like dominating the game. So people walk away from the game and be like there’s nothing they could do, on both ends.”

Celtics insider and NBC Sports' Chris Forsberg further divulged that Tatum is “well aware that most publications had him knocking on the door to the top 10” this season.

Newly-hired Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, on the other hand, has a slightly different take on the “next step” in Tatum's development.

For Udoka, it is essential for Tatum as well as Jaylen Brown to also hone their playmaking skills.

“We have multiple handlers. We have multiple playmakers. That’s an area where we need to see growth with Jaylen and Jayson,” Udoka told ESPN's “Jalen $ Jacoby” in the offseason. “It’s not just scoring the basketball. It’s those guys initiating the offense and being better playmakers. That’s the next step in their evolution.”
