The Boston Celtics are undergoing some issues with COVID-19 recently and it looks like they'll be without their best player for a period of time. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Jayson Tatum will be entering quarantine for up to two weeks due to the NBA's health and safety protocols.

It was revealed on Friday that the Celtics had a player test positive for COVID-19, who was discovered to be Robert Williams. Besides Williams, Tristan Thompson and Grant Williams were forced to quarantine due to being close contacts to the third-year center.

As a result, both Williams and Thompson were forced to sit for the Celtics in their game against the Washington Wizards on Friday night. However, Tatum played in the game, but he is now seemingly forced to remain away from the team due to the league's protocols.

Tatum — especially with Kemba Walker sidelined with an injury to begin the season — has been the main ball handler for the Celtics. In Boston's first 10 games of the season, Tatum has averaged a career-best 26.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 43.8 percent from outside the arc.

But with Tatum set to miss some time due to COVID-19, the Celtics will likely lean on Jaylen Brown more often on the offensive end of the floor. Brown has also gotten off to a blazing start to the season, compiling 26.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in Boston's first 10 contests.

Seeing that Tatum will miss up to two weeks of action, he could miss games against the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls, the Orlando Magic (twice), the New York Knicks, and the Philadelphia 76ers (twice).
