Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum couldn't hold back his excitement after banking the buzzer-beating layup to give the Beantown team the win in Game 1 of their playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets.

With just five seconds left, Tatum cut to the basket and received the pass from Marcus Smart for the game-winner. It wasn't easy, though, as Tatum showed some of his swag by spinning past Kyrie Irving and banking the tough layup.

Here's a replay of the epic exclamation point to the Celtics-Nets opener:

Jayson Tatum, for his part, absolutely loved the roar from the crowd and the celebration that followed. He admitted that it's the loudest he has heard TD Garden, making the win even more special.

“It doesn't get any better than that – a buzzer-beater in a playoff game in front of our fans,” the Celtics youngster said, per Jay King of The Athletic.

Kyrie Irving balled out for the Nets, and after Celtics fans let him hear their criticisms, the last thing they wanted to see is their former player leading his new team to a win in Boston. With that said, one can understand the joy the fans have after seeing Tatum make the difficult shot.

Moreover, that win is exactly what they need to get their playoffs started. The Celtics have playoff aspirations, and if they want to win it all, they need to beat teams like the Nets boasting superstar talents like Kyrie and Kevin Durant.
