Boston Celtics second-year small forward Jayson Tatum has been invited to participate in the 2019 Taco Bell Skills Challenge at All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

The event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Spectrum Center.

Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie won the 2018 Skills Challenge. He defeated Chicago Bulls stretch forward Lauri Markkanen.

The Skills Challenge is where two players will compete face-to-face without being timed. They start off by dribbling through some obstacles in a zigzag motion, then have to make a pass through a hole without bouncing the ball.

After that, the players go from one end to the other to make a layup, and then back to the other end to make a 3-pointer. Who ever finishes first wins.

Tatum, if he accepts the invitation, figures to do very well. He has a lethal jump shot and really good handles. It will be interesting to see if the forward decides to participate or not.

The 20-year-old was drafted third overall back in 2017, and in 47 games this year for the Celtics, he is averaging 16.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Tatum is shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 85.1 percent from the free-throw line.
