The Boston Celtics could be considered one of the most luckiest teams in the NBA. After trading away franchise star Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in 2013, many believed that the road to rebuilding would be a long one for the Celtics. In fact, after the Celtics won the 1986 NBA Championship, they went on a 22-year title drought. Therefore, it was fair to assume that the most successful franchise in league history would have a tough road ahead.

However, the Celtics were back to playoff contention quickly, and are now legitimate championship contenders in the East. This year, the Celtics have surprised many people in the NBA with their young guys' cohesive talent despite the absence of their major offseason signing in Gordon Hayward. The youngest guy, Jayson Tatum, sure isn't playing like a rookie right now, and has shown the potential to be a star.

While his on the court play and demeanor have impressed, there's a legitimate chance that Tatum could become the first Celtic since Larry Bird to start every game of his rookie season if he stays healthy.

Since starts became official, Larry Bird is the only Celtics rookie to start in every game. Jayson Tatum has started every game so far for the Celtics.

Bird is considered to be the most iconic Celtic of all time, but it would be extremely fitting for Tatum to be in company with one of the greatest players of all time. Tatum is already getting off to a great start with the Celtics, who have the second best record in the NBA. As a rookie, Tatum will be tasked to produce for the Celtics as they hope to bring Boston it's 18th NBA championship.
