The Boston Celtics have been outright insane these past few games. A team that seemingly lacked an identity earlier in the year has blossomed into one of the stingiest defenses in the league. Their stout defense, along with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown keeping the offense rolling, is the reason for their nine wins in ten games stretch.

After another Celtics win over the struggling Brooklyn Nets, Tatum talked about what changed for the team. He said that the biggest reason was because they were starting to have fun in their games. (via Keith Smith)

“We're just having a lot more fun. We know how we should play and how we're gonna play. And that's a lot of fun.”

Celtics fans are surely having fun watching their team steamroll the competition. Even before the All-Star break, the team was playing with an intensity that they've never seen since the start of the season. Their defense has been absolutely phenomenal, shutting out teams like the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers to sub-100 point games.

The Celtics have also found a consistency that they sorely lacked earlier. The early-season squad would find ways to beat teams miles above their talent level, but would also lose some games against… less stiff competition. Now, though, they're comfortably beating teams they're better than and hanging with the better teams in the league.

After all the turmoil and struggles surrounding the roster, it's refreshing to see this Celtics team go on this streak. If they want this streak to continue, though, Jayson Tatum and co. must keep this level of intensity every single game, as they jockey for position in the loaded Eastern Conference.
