Jayson Tatum couldn't help but be in awe of his former Boston Celtics teammate Marcus Morris, who got off to a hot start for the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Phoenix Suns.

Morris exploded for 13 points in the opening frame of the crucial contest for the Clippers, and he did so on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field. Tatum, who was obviously tuned in on the game right from the start, then took it to Twitter to show his respect and support for Morris.

Jayson Tatum was teammates with Marcus Morris for two seasons before the veteran forward left the Celtics in 2019 to sign with the New York Knicks. The ‘Bockers then traded Morris to the Clippers midway through the 2019-20 campaign.

While he has never been a superstar, Morris has established himself as a legitimate starter who can do the physical work down low or space the floor with his shooting from beyond the arc. Morris was a solid player during his stay with the Celtics, averaging 13.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from deep.

Morris has also been pivotal for the Clippers in their 2021 playoffs run, with his best game coming in Game 7 against the Dallas Mavericks when he scored 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting from 3-point territory.

While they are no longer teammates with the Celtics, it sure looks like Tatum still shares a great friendship with Morris as they continue to root for each other.
