The Boston Celtics fell just short of the 2022 NBA Finals title, losing to the Golden State Warriors Thursday night. While the Warriors had an outstanding performance on the road, the Celtics underperformed, assisting in the Dubs' win.

One of the biggest underperformers for Boston in Game 6 was Jayson Tatum. The forward only managed 13 points, three rebounds, and seven assists. He also recorded five turnovers, becoming the first player in NBA history to record 100 turnovers in a single postseason.

Following the loss, Tatum was clearly unhappy with how he played:

“It hurts,” he said, per Yahoo! Sports. “I feel like I could have done a lot of things better.”

Tatum's father, Justin, is ready to move past the loss and look ahead to next season despite his son's disappointment in himself:

“We'll be back,” he told reporters before exiting the stadium.

The way that this Celtics team played throughout the season and the postseason, there's a great possibility that Mr. Tatum is right.

The Celtics fought through every struggle and every injury thrown their way, many coming at the team in the middle of the postseason. From injuries to Marcus Smart and Robert Williams to facing elimination three times, the Celtics fought their way to the Finals.

While it wasn't the result they wanted, this season proved a lot about Boston's determination and capability of winning a championship. They were only two wins short.
