There's no denying that Jayson Tatum is banged up right now. The Boston Celtics star reportedly came into Game 2 nursing a hamstring injury, during which he took another knock. With the C's now down 2-0 against the mighty Brooklyn Nets, Boston will need their superstar to be at his very best the rest of the way — regardless if he's a hundred percent or not.

According to Celtics head coach Brad Stevens, however, it looks like Tatum should be good to go for Friday's pivotal contest against the Nets:

“The last I heard was that he was doing better and that Friday looks probable at that time [late Thursday evening],” Stevens said, via Chris Grenham of Forbes Sports. “But you never know how guys are going to get up and react and how it's going to feel the day (of) but they felt pretty good about him being able to go.”

Tatum exited Tuesday's 130-108 blowout loss in the third period after Nets star Kevin Durant inadvertently poked him in the eye on a loose ball play. Tatum headed to the locker room shortly after the incident and while he was able to return to the bench, he did not check back into the ballgame.

The Celtics are already in a deep hole as it is, and another loss would virtually end their season. The good news for them is that Tatum should be available to play for Game 3. This will be Boston's first game on their home floor, and while the odds are defintiely stacked against them, all hope is not lost just yet.
